Negar is a mining engineer with a decade of research and industry experience. She is presently a Senior Specialist Engineer for  Ventilation and Infrastructure with Vale Base Metals, where she works on Life of Asset Plans for Canadian operations. Beyond her career, Negar is dedicated to volunteer initiatives that promote equity and inclusion in the Science, Engineering, Technology, and Trades (SETT) fields. In addition to her work with WISE, Negar has volunteered as a board member with Wordstock Sudbury, tutored with United for Literacy, and served as an Industry Mentor in the Laurentian University Mineral Resource Industry Leadership Certificate Program. Her professional and community contributions were recognized in 2019 when she received the Sudbury 40 Under 40 award.In her spare time, Negar enjoys practicing setar and staying active through workouts, often spending time outdoors ice skating, stand-up paddling, or hiking.

Raziye Asoodeh currently holds the position of Vice-President for the WISE Sudbury chapter. She holds a Master’s degree in Earth Science from Memorial University and a Master’s in Civil Engineering from Iran. She has experience in civil engineering, hydrogeology, and mining, including one year at Vale in Voisey’s Bay Mine, where she developed strong technical and field skills. She currently works as a Civil Designer at EXP.

She volunteered as an Education Ambassador for the Mineral Resources Review and as a mentor in the Graduate Mentorship Program at Memorial University, supporting students in their academic and career growth.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, cooking, and making pastries.

Aysa Samareh currently holds the position of Treasurer for the WISE Sudbury chapter.

She was born and raised in Iran and studied Mechanical Engineering. She moved to Sudbury to pursue a Master’s degree in Applied Engineering Science at Laurentian University.

Kimia Kariman currently serves as Secretary of the WISE Sudbury Chapter. She holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Science from Laurentian University and a Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering from Azad University in Tehran.

With an academic background spanning both architecture and engineering, Kimia is interested in infrastructure, design, and the mining industry, with a particular interest in project coordination and engineering solutions that support sustainable development. Through her involvement with WISE, she is committed to initiatives that support mentorship, community building, and opportunities for women in science, engineering, and technology.

Since moving to Sudbury in 2024, Kimia has also volunteered at Pioneer Manor when opportunities arise. In her spare time, she enjoys connecting with the local community, expanding her professional network, and exploring new opportunities within the engineering and mining sectors.
